A charismatic Irish rock guitarist and a young classical cellist have a chance encounter one glorious night above New York's Washington Square.
Torn apart by fate, they leave in their wake a baby boy orphaned by circumstance. Years later, performing on the streets of New York, August Rush uses his remarkable musical talent to find and reunite the parents.
